As a leading professional society in the field of production and operations management, POMS has the responsibility to influence and recognize outstanding research and teaching accomplishments. In addition, the POMS Board in its meeting held on November 28, 2022 has instituted the Excellence in Industry Engagement Award to recognize faculty excellence in engaging with industry for experiential education, research, and alumni outreach.

The purpose of this award is to recognize faculty excellence in engagement with industry to motivate research, enhance students' learning, and collaborate with industry-government initiatives to support students' success, and create value for universities and other stakeholders.
